The Internet is essential in 21st-century life for education, business and social interaction. As we develop our children into successful global citizens we will help them to use the internet responsibly and with respect in line with our school values. The positives of the digital world overwhelmingly outweigh the negatives, but children, schools and parents need to be aware of various online risks.
The teaching of online safety begins in Foundation Stage and continues throughout school, both as part of the computing curriculum and within our PSHE curriculum. Pupils are taught to use technology safely and respectfully, keeping personal information private. They are taught to recognise acceptable and unacceptable behaviour, and know a range of ways to report concerns about content and contact.
You may feel that children are more technically aware than you, so we regularly update parents on the latest advice around online safety through our school dojo account and on this page. Your help is also needed to prevent children from accessing inappropriate material at home by the way of filters and parental controls.
